Leona Mae is a 16 year old British singer-songwriter with country, pop and folk influences. She performs frequently with a loop pedal to add interest to her sound and has a wide range of material from heartfelt ballads to fast uplifting songs! Her biggest achievement to date was playing her original song at the royal Albert hall as the joint winner of the Hertfordshire songwriters competition at just aged 14!!
Leona fell in love with writing songs and singing at a young age after going to her first ever concert (Taylor Swift) when she was nine, she loved how the stories spoke out to the audience and made them feel different emotions. Now, Leona is always out performing; whether that’s on stage, at local pubs, private events or busking! She loves gaining the performance experience and being able to share her music with the public. After hours of refining and perfecting her songs at Gigs, she’s grown her own unique voice and singing style with signature country “cracks” and a hauntingly beautiful “head voice”. These trademark features shape who she is as an artist
As well as performing her original song at the royal Albert hall, Leona has taken part in many other competitions and performances including making the final of “mayor of London Gigs busking competition” and regional final of “open mic UK”. Leona has performed at multiple Hertfordshire songwriter showcases and been selected to write songs for many various events. As well as originals, Leona runs an active Instagram account where she posts covers and a Capella videos, showcasing her own take on popular songs! You can watch these covers uploaded to her YouTube channel as well!
